Supporting Oyster Reef Restoration Projects
Each year, more than 10 million tonnes of shell globally ends up in landfill. We’ve partnered with environmental and social organisations to divert discarded oyster shells from landfill and transform them into uniquely beautiful architectural coatings.
Oysters: An Unsung Hero in a Changing Climate
As well as being one of the world’s lowest-impact source of protein, oysters have many other environmental benefits. As the oyster industry in Australia continues to grow it’s important that we find ways to recycle and reuse the shell ‘waste’ to create a truly circular economy.
Oysters:
- Are carbon sinks – oysters sequester (draw down and lock away) carbon from the atmosphere. Oyster shell contains around 12% carbon which, we then lock away in our wall finishes.
- Improve ocean water health – filtering algae, nutrients and suspended matter from sea water
- Increase habitat for many species of fish and other animals
- Protecting coastlines from erosion
Using recycled oyster shells in place of virgin aggregates alleviates pressure on the environment, diverts waste from landfill and locks carbon away in the building material.
Our finishes
Natural shell allows us to create a first-of-its kind collection of architectural finishes that have unique texture and aesthetics. Our Circular Sea Collection features a range of exciting textures, colours and application techniques including terrazzo, ombre, rammed earth, exposed aggregate and more. Custom finishes for larger scale projects are possible on request.

Our samples are made by hand. We're able to provide complimentary samples for registered professionals working on confirmed projects. Please provide as much detail about the project as possible.
